Strategy is the part nobody sees and everybody feels. It decides what a brand is for, who it is talking to, and what it is prepared to give up in order to be a specific thing rather than a general one.
A brand without a strategy still has one, it just happened by accident. Every choice made in a hurry, every design signed off because it looked fine, adds up to a position you did not pick. That is survivable while you are small. It stops being survivable when you are hiring, raising money, or trying to charge more than the studio next door.
We start by finding out what is actually true. What the business sells, who keeps coming back, and what people say when they describe you to a friend.
If you have more than one product, or more than one audience, they need an order. Architecture is deciding what sits under what, what gets its own name, and what simply borrows the parent's.
Done well it stops you building six half brands. Done badly it is why nobody can explain what your company does in one sentence.
A position you can defend, a way of talking that does not need us in the room, and a set of rules loose enough to keep making things inside. Most of the work is decisions, not documents.
